In the second half of the 80s, Belgium became the heartbeat of the electronic universe—Belgian DJs adopted a kind of wrong the right approach, playing imported EDM singles at 33 RPM instead of the regular 45. Consequently, it gave birth to a whole generation of Belgian New Beat bands and artists. For a little while, New Beat permeated into the smoky nightclubs around the country, developing a unique sound echoing a slower and moodier version of the new wave, house, and more… So feel the beat with some of the most essential acts representing the sound of Belgium in E26 of the NightWave show.
